Troubleshooting & FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see any assets in my overview?
Possible causes:
- You have filter settings that hide all assets
- Assets are in the "Archived assets" tab
- You don't have access rights for these assets
- No assets have been created in the environment yet
Solution:
- Check the Archived tab - Click on "Archived assets" at the top of the overview
- Reset all filters - Clear filters and perform an empty search
- Check your permissions - Ask your administrator for access
- Create your first asset - Click "Add Asset" to begin
New Tidal environments start without assets. Begin by adding your most critical business resources via the "Add Asset" button.
Can't I edit an archived asset anymore?
This is normal behavior. Archived assets are read-only to ensure data integrity.
Solution:
- Restore the asset from archive - Go to "Archived assets" tab
- Select the asset with the checkbox
- Click "Unarchive"
- The asset becomes active and can be edited again
How can I edit multiple assets at once?
Available bulk operations:
- Assign owners - Select assets and assign the same owner
- Archive or delete - Process multiple assets in one action
Why can't I assign an owner to an asset?
Possible reasons:
- The person doesn't have a user account in Tidal
- You have insufficient rights for this asset
- The owner is assigned, but the page hasn't refreshed yet
Solution:
- Check user list - Type the name and check if suggestions appear
- Ask administrator to add the person to Tidal
- Refresh the page - F5 to resolve any cache problems
Where do I find the impact rating of my asset?
Impact rating locations:
- Assets overview - "CIA rating" column shows C, I, A scores
- Assessment tab - Complete impact analysis with details
If impact rating is empty:
- Go to the asset and open the "Assessment" tab
- Fill in CIA scores (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability)
- Rating is automatically calculated based on highest score
- Save assessment - Impact appears in overviews
See Assessing Assets for a complete explanation.
Start with a rough assessment for all assets. A global impact rating is better than no rating, and you can always refine later.
