Assets

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Most asset problems come down to one of four things: a filter that hides everything, an asset sitting in the archive, missing access rights, or an assessment that was never filled in. The answers below cover each of those.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't I see any assets in my overview?

This is almost always a filter or the Archived tab, not a real data problem.

Possible causes:

  • You have filter settings that hide all assets
  • Assets are in the "Archived" tab
  • You don't have access rights for these assets
  • No assets have been created in the environment yet

Solution:

  1. Check the Archived tab - Click on "Archived" at the top of the overview
  2. Reset all filters - Clear filters and perform an empty search
  3. Check your permissions - Ask your administrator for access
  4. Create your first asset - Click "Add asset" to begin
Note

New Tidal environments start without assets. Begin by adding your most critical business resources via the "Add asset" button.

Can't I edit an archived asset anymore?

This is normal behaviour. Archived assets are read-only to ensure data integrity.

Solution:

  1. Restore the asset from archive - Go to the "Archived" tab
  2. Select the asset with the checkbox
  3. Click "Unarchive"
  4. The asset becomes active and can be edited again

How can I edit multiple assets at once?

Selecting several assets at once lets you assign an owner or archive them in a single action.

Available bulk operations:

  • Assign owners - Select assets and assign the same owner
  • Archive or delete - Process multiple assets in one action

Why can't I assign an owner to an asset?

The person usually just doesn't have a Tidal account yet, or you don't have rights on this asset.

Possible reasons:

  • The person doesn't have a user account in Tidal
  • You have insufficient rights for this asset
  • The owner is assigned, but the page hasn't refreshed yet

Solution:

  1. Check user list - Type the name and check if suggestions appear
  2. Ask administrator to add the person to Tidal
  3. Refresh the page - F5 to resolve any cache problems

Where do I find the impact rating of my asset?

The CIA rating shows in the overview column and in full on the Assessment tab; it's empty until that assessment is filled in.

Impact rating locations:

  • Assets overview - "Assessment" column shows C, I, A scores
  • Assessment tab - Complete impact analysis with details

If impact rating is empty:

  1. Go to the asset and open the "Assessment" tab
  2. Fill in CIA scores (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability)
  3. Rating is automatically calculated based on highest score
  4. Save assessment - Impact appears in overviews

See Performing asset assessments for a complete explanation.

Tip

Start with a rough assessment for all assets. A global impact rating is better than no rating, and you can always refine later.
