Hi, welcome back to the Tidal Product Update newsletter. For the first newsletter of the year we are starting strong with new frameworks, more AWS tests, and several big UI updates.

This release includes:

  • Improved menu & navigation
  • Updates to My Overview & page KPIs
  • 6 new ISO frameworks
  • 61 AWS EC2 tests
  • Custom Personnel Roles
  • Risk Heatmap and other risk updates
  • Issue filters and bi-weekly plans

For more information and visuals of the updates, check out the What's New section in your Tidal app.

Improved Menu & Navigation

Cleaner layout and more focus

We've streamlined the Tidal user interface to create a more focused and spacious experience:

  • Moved Profile to the main menu
  • Renamed Feature request to Get help and moved it to the main menu
  • Moved Settings and What's New under the Profile menu
  • Removed the top navigation bar to free up screen space

The result is a cleaner UI with fewer distractions and easier navigation.

Updates to My Overview & Page KPIs

Better visibility across modules

We've introduced KPI tiles on the Risk, Vendor, Asset, Policies, Documents, and Personnel overview pages, highlighting key compliance metrics and clarifying which items need attention.

Additionally, key progress indicators have been added to the My Overview page to help track progress and improve consistency of progress tracking across all these pages.

6 New ISO Frameworks

Expanded standards coverage

We've added 6 new ISO frameworks to the Tidal Control library, broadening our coverage in Healthcare, Cloud Security & Privacy, and Health & Safety domains, allowing you to map controls to even more industry and regulatory standards:

  • ISO 13485 – Medical devices quality management
  • ISO 17021-1 – Conformity assessment
  • ISO 27017 – Cloud security
  • ISO 27018 – Cloud privacy
  • ISO 27701 – Privacy information management
  • ISO 45001 – Occupational health & safety

61 New AWS EC2 Security Tests

Expanded cloud compliance coverage

We've added 61 new AWS EC2 security tests, aligned with AWS Security Hub controls. These tests validate EC2 instance configurations and related resources, including:

  • Network and access controls
  • Storage encryption
  • Monitoring and logging
  • Secure instance configuration

Each test now includes direct links to AWS Security Hub documentation, making remediation faster and more actionable.

Custom Personnel Roles

Clear ownership and accountability

You can now configure and assign custom roles within the Personnel page.

Roles appear in both overview and detail pages, making it easier to identify responsibilities and key stakeholders involved in compliance activities.

Risk Heatmap and Other Risk Updates

Clearer insights and prioritization

  • Risk heatmap visualization provides a visual overview of risks based on likelihood and impact
  • Bulk update risk appetite lets you update multiple risks at once
  • Risk report exports now include all underlying controls linked to each risk, giving a complete picture of mitigation efforts

Issue Filters and Bi-Weekly Plans

More flexibility and control

  • Issue filtering by attributes makes it easier to organize and locate issues
  • Bi-weekly plan frequency bridges the gap between weekly and monthly schedules, ideal for recurring follow-ups

Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements

This release also includes a range of fixes and reliability improvements:

  • Editor popup positioning fixed in dialogs
  • Improved start experience for new policies
  • Azure test fixes for PostgreSQL and Storage Accounts
  • General performance refinements
