Audit Fatigue

Reduced effectiveness due to excessive audits, addressed with integrated GRC platforms that reuse evidence.

A

Audit fatigue occurs when organisations face so many audits, assessments and compliance reviews that the process becomes counterproductive. Staff may become disengaged, evidence quality deteriorates and the organisation starts treating audits as a box-ticking exercise rather than a genuine opportunity for improvement.

Integrated GRC platforms combat audit fatigue by enabling evidence reuse across multiple frameworks and standards. When a single piece of evidence can satisfy requirements for ISO 27001, SOC 2 and NIS2 simultaneously, the burden on teams is significantly reduced. Continuous compliance approaches further alleviate fatigue by replacing periodic audit sprints with ongoing, automated monitoring.
