Hi, it's time for the August newsletter! In the last month we have implemented many large and small improvements, and created new functionalities in Tidal.

Enhanced Plans Functionality

We've added the ability in Plans (workflows) to group tasks, providing greater flexibility. The options are:

  • One task per control – Group all relevant assets into a single control task – useful when a control can be executed once across all assets.
  • One task per asset – Group all relevant controls into a single asset task, ideal for asset-based evidence collection.
  • Separate tasks – One task per unique control–asset combination. This is how the application currently works, and your existing plans will continue to run this way.

In addition, it's no longer mandatory to link an asset to a control (and vice versa). If you encounter tasks you don't recognize, first check whether it concerns a Control or Asset without any links. Finally, you can now also customize the title of generated tasks (note: for now, every task in scope will receive the same title).

2 New ISO Frameworks

The following new frameworks are now available in Tidal Control:

ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems

ISO 42001 – Artificial Intelligence Management Systems

This broadens compliance coverage for organizations working with environmental standards and AI governance.

Jira Cloud and Atlassian Admin Integrations

We've added integrations with Jira Cloud and the Atlassian Admin portal —along with 10 corresponding tests. These allow you to monitor Jira Cloud usage with Tidal and access to Atlassian apps like Jira and Bitbucket. This integration paves the way for more in-depth testing, such as monitoring project configurations, user rights, permissions, workflows, audit logs, and notifications.

Quality Objectives Policy

The Quality Objectives template has been added to the Policies section, including the corresponding Policy Test to validate quality management objectives and their implementation.

Passkey Authentication

Stronger, passwordless security

Tidal Control now supports passkeys (WebAuthn, biometrics, and security keys), enabling:

  • Passwordless login for users
  • Reduced password-related risks
  • A safer and more user-friendly authentication experience

Further Improvements

Archived control status – Archiving controls (and closing related tasks) previously led to "compliant controls," which could be confusing. Archived controls now automatically receive the status Undetermined.

Organization name capitalization – Environment names can now include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters. This resolves an issue where some users could not access their environment and also makes logging in easier.

Get Started Right Away

Check the "What's New" section in the Tidal portal for more details and helpful videos to guide you in using the new functionality.

Stay tuned for next month's update, where we'll continue to expand Tidal's compliance automation and integrations even further!
