Controls

What is a control?

A control is a policy, procedure, process, or technology implemented within an organization to mitigate risks, ensure compliance and achieve specific objectives such as maintaining security. For instance, implementing access controls minimizes the risk of unauthorized access to sensitive data.

How to add a custom control?

If controls in our Tidal library are not sufficient for your use case, you can add custom controls yourself via the "Add control" button.

  1. Click "Add control"
  2. Provide a name and custom id (optional)
  3. Assign an owner, i.e. the employee in your organisation that is accountable for the control (optional)
  4. Provide a description of the control (optional)

When you have clicked 'Create', the side panel will appear. There you can link relevant tasks, tests, and issues. Clicking on the cog wheel on the top right allows you to provide more detailed information on the control.
