Responsible AI is an approach to designing, developing and deploying artificial intelligence systems that places ethics, transparency, accountability and fairness at the centre. It covers the full lifecycle of AI—from data collection and model training through to deployment and monitoring—ensuring that systems do not perpetuate bias, infringe on privacy, or produce unexplainable decisions.

With the EU AI Act and similar regulations emerging worldwide, responsible AI is rapidly shifting from a voluntary best practice to a legal obligation. Organisations deploying AI must document their risk assessments, implement human oversight mechanisms and maintain audit trails to demonstrate compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
