Hi, welcome back to the Tidal Product Update newsletter. In this edition we're excited to share the latest improvements released in September. For more information on the updates, check the What's new section in the Tidal-portal.
Evidence Viewer
You no longer have to download evidence to view it.
We've added a document viewer directly in Tidal - allowing you to view documents (html, pdf), images (png, jpeg etc.) and automatically collected test evidence (.json) without having to download the file to your desktop.
- The document viewer is available in all pages where documents reside: Policies, Evidence, Tasks, Tests, etc.
- For unsupported types, download remains available
- PDF policies can now also be previewed directly in the policy detail page, streamlining actions like assigning ownership and approving policies
Coming soon: Support for Microsoft documents (.docx, .xlsx) and more text file formats (such as .csv).
New "Getting Started" page
Helping new users onboarding faster and easier
New users will now be greeted in Tidal with the revamped Getting Started page. The new page contains sections with tasks to complete as part of the setup of Tidal and starting your compliance journey - add integrations, invite users, complete your first control, etc.
Additionally, you'll now find an Organisational Profile under Settings, where you can define your organisation's context. This information will automatically be used in places like policy documents and AI-powered features.
If you are an existing user and would like to enable the Getting Started page, then send us an e-mail at support@tidalcontrol.com
Help center & Documentation
Now with over 60 articles to answer any question about Tidal!
We have improved the help center documentation, which now contains over 60 articles to help you answer any question you may have about Tidal Control. Every page in Tidal is in there, and it includes a step-by-step guide to activate all of the built-in Integrations. We are currently working on training TidalBot with this documentation, and we'll be updating it regularly with new functionality.
New Risk User Interface
Simpler, clearer, and more intuitive
The Risk Management module has been redesigned with a cleaner layout, making it easier to assess, manage, and track risks across your organisation.
Full-Screen Detail Panels
More space to focus on complex data
Detail panels can now be expanded to full-screen mode, providing more room to review and edit detailed information without distraction.
Improved Strict Mode
More precise control over permissions
We've improved strict mode with better field options across multiple modules, including plans, assets, controls, vendors, issues, risks, and execution details. This gives administrators more granular control over user access and data management.
(Strict mode is included in the Scale plan and available as an add-on in Essential and Professional plans)
Fixes and Stability Improvements
- Policy downloads – Fixed an issue preventing some users from downloading policy documents.
- Control status – Fixed a bug where control status was not updating correctly after test completion.
- Risk hover overlay – Fixed an issue with the control hover overlay in Risk Detail view. Control information now displays correctly on hover.
- Task sorting by closed date - In My Tasks and Task Overview, you can now sort tasks by their closed date — helping you analyse completion trends and quickly review finished work.
Stay tuned for next month's update, where we'll continue to expand Tidal's compliance automation and usability enhancements.
