Product updates

What’s new | Q2 2024

We were a bit late with our previous product update, which we used to show off our Feb release. And yes, as a result, we ended up skipping our Q1 2024 Blog. But now we’re back in style! In Q2 we worked a lot on our back-end. Useful stuff, but not always visible in the front-end. Yet, we managed to bring 6 major feature updates that we’ll show you in this blog post. And, as a bonus, we present a quick peak into the near future….Happy reading!

Frameworks page and KPIs (Release)

The Frameworks page allows you to track progress towards all your mapped frameworks at once. KPIs were added to this page (and 3 other pages) to make it easier to track progress.

To celebrate, we also added the following Frameworks: NIST CSF 2.0, DNB Good Practice Information Security 2023, BIO 2.0, and ISO9001:2015.

All Frameworks have been mapped to the Tidal Control library. In other words: “Test once, use many”.

Tidal Help portal

We’ve launched the Tidal help portal. It serves two purposes; help you find your way in Tidal, and help you find your way in the world of compliance. We’re kicking off with the ‘Getting started’ section and the ‘ISO27001’ guidance section, but there’s much more to come.

Business Impact Analysis (Release)

You can now perform business impact analyses directly in Tidal, which eliminates the need for an excel exercise. In the coming months you’ll see more updates to the Asset functionality as we are adding up features that help you complete compliance objectives directly in Tidal.

Microsoft Excel and PowerBI reporting

In our previous update we introduced the Microsoft PowerBI reporting capability. We now also support the Cloud version of PowerBI, so you can use the web app to refresh your Tidal Control data in real-time and do everything else that PowerBI does well.

If you’d rather just export data into an Excel directly then you’ll be happy to know that we also added an ‘Export to Excel’ button in Tidal.

Navigation enhancements

In the past few months we started noticing that it became more difficult to find things in Tidal, and navigate between Frameworks, Controls, Activities, and Issues. In the May release we made the first step to make it easier to navigate to an activity from a control. In the coming months we’ll be introducing cool feature like webshop style filters and enhanced search to make it a breeze again to find what you need.

Automations

We’ve added more user-configurable automations for Microsoft Azure and Atlassian Jira. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) integration is now also user-configurable.

What’s next?

We are accelerating our roadmap with several big releases on the way: Policy Management 2.0, auto-tests, faster page loads, page redesigns, and lots more. Stay tuned!
